Hi all, I have recently qualified as a domestic electrical installer, I am wanting to know if there is a way i can work out how much to charge for jobs, I was told by someone that I should charge between £35 – £45 per point e.g. socket or lighting rose ETC, and depending on the situation and design of the property. Can anyone shed some light on how to work this out?? Thanks in advance
As you are just starting out, I suggest that you start with a low charge to get the work and experience. All the jobs are different, i.e. wooden floors, hard floors, big lofts, small lofts. So until you gain experience you will have to grin and bear any losses you make. The important thing is to do a good job and get known. Make a small profit and expand. Good luck

Can you check the classifieds sections of local papers? It would be a good idea to see what others charge, and then maybe charge a bit less while you’re setting yourself up and trying to gain clients. Good luck!
