They were in a box that got put in our outdoor storage shed by mistake. Now they have little lumps, and no matter how much I shake (stir) them, the nozzle keeps clogging. Is there ANYthing I can do to make the paint ok again? They are Krylon Satin Touch Designer Finish or Krylon Home Decor Latex; 12 oz (dries in 12 minutes or less) for inside and out, for use on wood, metal, plastic, wicker, etc. in 4 or 5 different colors) and I think the Arizona heat has ruined them! I really don’t want to have to pitch them. What can I do? Pleeeeese help.
Lots of shaking little mamma. Hoo ho lot of shakin’ going on. Thank You, thank you very much. Seriously, if you shake the devil out of the can and keep shaking them while you are using them they will work better. I would find some extre nozzles from other cans that work so you could switch them when they get clogged. Soak the clogged ones in a small jar of paint thinner for a while and they will work again.
what height can you build a brick shed in the garden is there a law on how high it can be
garden shed plans 6 Comments »do you need planning permission to build a brick shed , i know for a wooden shed you can just put them up
im sure ther must be a height limit ie 6ft anyone know
i will have to phone the council as the shed the people on the back of me is alfull and must be 12ft high and it stands out like a sore thumb ,its so hard when its neighbours as i dont want to fall out with them but i dont really want to look at a 12ft shed while im in the garden
I have reproduced an answer I gave to a question posted shortly after yours that will give you some idea:
"In England and Wales you can fill half your garden area with outbuildings without the need for planning permission subject to certain restrictions. In outline they are:
Must be more than 5 metres away from the nearest part of the house or they are classed as extensions.
They must not be nearer to a highway than the house, i.e. not in the front garden or in the side garden if you are on a corner plot.
No higher than 4 metres with a ridged roof or 3 metres in any other case.
They must be used for a purpose "ancilliary" to the main house, i.e. for domestic purposes.
You must check whether these rights have been previously removed by the council (rare but can happen) and that there are no restrictive covenants on your deeds.
If you rent the property you must get the consent of the landlord."
If your neighbour has complied with the above then no planning permission would be required whether it is built of wood or brick.
It is possible that they would need Building Regulations approval but some outbuildings are exempt – you would have to check with your Council.
I have a Profile Design aero drink bottle and bracket but can’t work out the best way to attach it to my aero bars – the instructions are unclear. Can anyone shed any light?
Here is a picture of one mounted.

Every time i go to my storage unit it comes on like i havnt taken a crap in weeks, EVEN if i sit on the toilet prior to going to storage and I try to poop for 20 min and nothing comes out, but 1 min at storage and it materializes and i have to rush home. This ALSO happends every time i get on a internet cafe’ computer, or start walking through the woods. CAN ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT?? ITS REALLY ANNOYING!!!!!
It could be stress.
The one thing all three of the examples you listed have in common is that they are all places where you can’t easily just "go" (which means that you are not in control of the situation and thereby get stressed and have to poop – or at least feel like you do). It is similar to a panic attack.
It’s not uncommon and may require therapy and/or medication if it gets worse and becomes a problem with you being able to do things in a normal manner.
Good Luck (and get help if and when you think you might need it).
Do you need planning permission to build a single story garage/shed on your land?
garden shed plans 11 Comments »The land is at the bottom of my large garden.
There is already a zinc shed there, but want to re-build it bigger/larger.
in the uk, if it is built out of bricks then yes, if it is out of wood, then no, because wood is classed as temporary building

Career change to interior design. How should I get started and what is the market outlook like in the field?
shed designs 1 Comment »I have been in the HR field for the past 7 years, I have a BS in Advertising. I love decorating and it comes with such ease, I want to get into the more technical aspect of design. Should I return to school and is this a good field? If you or someone you know is n this field, please shed some light.
Interior design is a lot more than interior decorating. If interior design really is something that interests you enough that you are wanting to switch careers, you must get a degree or diploma in it from an accredited school. The programs run from two to four years depending on the school and the exact program. Usually the private colleges are quicker because you don’t have to take phys ed, humanities, and other non-core classes. No matter how you do it, it is an intense program, and no matter how good the college or university you attend, you will still have to keep learning forever after graduation because there are always new products, new technologies, new construction methods…
Interior design is actually the profession that bridges the gap between decorator and architect. The architects are responsible primarily for the exterior and structural aspects, and the decorator embellishes the interior. The interior designer plans the interior, weighing practicality (function) with aesthetics, while respecting building codes, fire codes, and more. It is a very technical field and it is also a unique field because it is really the only industry so closely linked to construction where women out-number men 3-1.
In terms of job availability and pay, there is a wide fluctuation from one geographic location to the next, so you’ll really have to investigate this from where you are. It is a wonderful field to start your own business in if you are certain you have what it takes to make it work — this requires some way to support yourself for the first while as you’re building up your business, endless patience, the ability/energy to work 7 days a week, and the guts to go find clients. From experience I can say that in the first year at least it will be very rare that clients would seek you out — you would have to actively pursue each one to end up with a signed contract.
Where I am, working for a design office, very recent interior design graduates with real talent and skill earn about double minimum wage and that increases after they pass the 6 month mark with a company, then usually again at the one year mark. A designer employed by a firm with several years experience is making a comfortable salary — certainly not rolling around in money, but way above the poverty line.
If you opt to work on your own, your salary will fluctuate greatly for at least a few years. Some months you’ll just scrape by (hopefully) and other months you’ll be paying off debts twice as fast as you had anticipated.
Whether you choose to work for yourself or for someone else’s firm, interior design is a very competitive industry and you have to be able to sell yourself. You have to be self-motivated, and you have to be exceptionally perceptive/observant.
The interior design programs include various art courses (colour theory, drawing, etc); theory classes like art history, professional practice and lighting principles; industrious courses like furniture making; and technical classes such as drafting — both manual and using AutoCAD. If interior design is what your true calling, it will become a way of life rather than a career.
I hope I have answered at least some of your questions. Good luck!
I need an indestructable dog bed! I have two female pittbul/American bulldogs who chew and destroy dog beds!?
wood storage shed 5 Comments »I have two female pit/american bulldogs who can tear up a blanket or dog bed in minutes. They are a little over 1 years old and nothing will get them to stop chewing! They have destroyed numerous dog beds and blankets and heavy bedspreads. They get plenty of excercise and attention and socialization, and we correct their bad behavior, but they just wont stop chewing. If anyone knows of a product that has helped them with a similar problem, please tell me. Just to get an idea of how good of chewers they are, they have ripped Kong toys up, they have ripped a soft crate, and they have ruined hoses and chewed out the wood bottom of our storage shed which we have converted into their dog house.
we have tried the bitter spray
i have this problem too. My APBT is 13 months and she just started chewing on her blanket and chewed a big hole in my blanket. she also used to chew wood and the tile floor in my kitchen. Use Bitter Yuk spray or put tabasco sauce and water in a spray bottle and use it. Mine rips thru a kong the black ones in like 3 days. Mine also gets exercise, socialazation and is trained. She chews my stuff out of spite sometimes i think.
Will decorative rock work as a gravel substitute under a backyard shed?
garden shed plans 4 Comments »I’m planning on building a tool/garden shed in our back yard. Instead of burying posts, I’m planning on building it on skids.
Most of the plans I’ve seen for sheds resting on skids call for an inch or so of gravel under the skids. I assume this is to provide drainage so the skids won’t rot resting on wet ground.
However, we’ve got a lot of decorative quartz garden rock that the previous owner used as ground cover under a ground-level patio. We were planning on just taking that to the dump, but is there any reason not to use that instead of gravel under the skids?
Just to clarify…there’s no slab where the shed will be – there’s just dirt right now.
The previous owners had a ground-level deck in another portion of the back yard which as been removed. Under the decking they had put down plastic and the decorative rock on top of the plastic, presumably to prevent anything from growing.
The decorative rocks are roughly 1/2" x 1" in size – larger than gravel. But I’m wondering if these rocks are small enough still to serve the same function and if there’s any other reason I’m not aware of that gravel would be a better alternative.
Thanks!
Yes your right the shale or gravel, is to help with drainage, this in turn help slowdown the process of rot. but if you use treated timber for your skids then you should not need gravel. If I understand you here you have a slabbed patio area as long as this is level so your shed does not twist once erected you will be fine.
Tantalized timer these days is well protected from water penetration and so it can withstand being out in wet conditions. A shed company I used a few years ago recommend a flat slab for a shed.
If you don’t have a slabbed base then yes you can use a gravel base.
How to design an experiement that measures and traces the flow of a particular nutrient in a closed ecosystem?
shed designs 1 Comment »For my IB Environmental Sciences class, I must design an experiement that measures and traces the flow of a particular nutrient in a closed ecosystem.
Here is what the Science Lab Planning Worksheet looks like:

If anyone could shed some light on this for me and assist me in coming up with ideas for a good experiment for this, in addition to assisting me with the above outlined sections, I would greatly appreciate it!
I will give a good amount of points to the best answer, so please be as thorough and detailed as possible when responding!
You have a lot of leeway with this, since you can choose whatever nutrient you want. Some nutrients, like water, are easy to track since they can be measured very well in the environment, and you automatically have a good idea of how much water each organism holds. I would first research different types of nutrients before you start this project.
Good luck!
