Our Garden Shed provides an attractive addition to any backyard landscape with plenty of room for a lawnmower, wheelbarrow, and garden tools. Yet it doesn’t take up much space. It’s 4 feet deep by 10 feet long – just the right size to set at the back of the yard or against the house or garage.
I am a carpenter, and know how, but anyone have any useful tips i could figure into my design, plans? It’ll just be 8×12, wood clapboard siding, wood trim. Maybe any ideas for doors, windows? Im still unsure of what I’ll use.
I am doing the same but a 10×14 shed. been going to the home improvement stores looking at their rejects, Stuff people ordered and returned, got a fiberglass door with a window for 50 bucks. some guy ordered it and trimmed 5 inches off it and no one wanted it so got a 400 dollar door (before up-charge for trimming it) for 50 bucks. I have my eye on a window. its still to new, ill try again in a week or so and see if i can get it for 50 bucks as well. I am going to key the door same as house (actually will be taking knob off door to garage which is keyed same as the house but we never use)
May want to run power and tv out there so can go out there and hide.
I just moved to Michigan from Mississippi, I had my belongings in a storage unit down there and realized it had gotten roaches in it. I bombed the unit before I brought all my stuff back. I would like to know if any survived the bombs if they could live in the cold up here considering the items are now in a shed with no heat. I believe there were regular roaches and "wood roaches".
Leave them outside when it’s minus 30, it will probably kill them.
Do i need planning permission to build a 30 x 15ft hut in my front garden?
garden shed plans 4 Comments »i have a HUGE front garden(fenced) thats wasted space. We want to erect a 30 x 15 wooden shed to house our pool table in. We have asked all nieghbours who look onto the fron garden if they have a problem and all say no. basically they all look at the front of our house(grey roughcast) so with a shed there they would see a dark brown wooden shed.
A WOODEN SHED IS CLASSED AS TEMPORY. THE ONLY REGULATIONS THAT APPLY ARE, AS DAFT AS IT SEEMS, THE SHED SHOULD NOT BE HIGHER THAN THE HOUSE ROOF, NOR SHOULD IT BE BUILT OVER A VICTORIAN SEWER.
what is a lattice girder or box girder? i want to design a lattice girder for a open shed he don’t want any
shed designs 1 Comment »i want to design a truss, but the client don’t want any typified A-frame truss, instead he wants a box type i mean a lattice girder lean to type truss which is spanning 40′ , i hope you’d understand the problem he want a truss lean to type but it should be box lattice girder with vertical diagonal top chord and bottom chord type, for a span of 40′!!!! can any body help me to design this type of truss and i’m unable to design the truss also the truss can be using hollow box section, tube section, or angle sectin

i have a storage shed that is made of wood i dropped a cologne bottle and it broke and now the floor and wall is wet will this cause mold?
It’s unlikely since cologne usually has alcohol in it to help it dry quickly. It’s also not usually made of ingredients that feed mold, like a food product would. You’ll probably just have a strong-smelling shed, but hopefully it’s a smell you like
An artist thanked the vicar for letting him stay at a garden shed for a short time. The artist was planning to move out and said, “I’ll clear out the shed. Thank you for letting me set up in there.”
I was wondering if what does “set up” mean? Does it mean “stay” or “start his art business”?
Thank you very much
It’s closer to "stay", actually meaning "put up";
"Thank you for giving me accommodation/a place to stay."
"Set up" does mean "to start business", but I don’t think it
was used here in that sense.

Hi all, I have recently qualified as a domestic electrical installer, I am wanting to know if there is a way i can work out how much to charge for jobs, I was told by someone that I should charge between £35 – £45 per point e.g. socket or lighting rose ETC, and depending on the situation and design of the property. Can anyone shed some light on how to work this out?? Thanks in advance
As you are just starting out, I suggest that you start with a low charge to get the work and experience. All the jobs are different, i.e. wooden floors, hard floors, big lofts, small lofts. So until you gain experience you will have to grin and bear any losses you make. The important thing is to do a good job and get known. Make a small profit and expand. Good luck
They were in a box that got put in our outdoor storage shed by mistake. Now they have little lumps, and no matter how much I shake (stir) them, the nozzle keeps clogging. Is there ANYthing I can do to make the paint ok again? They are Krylon Satin Touch Designer Finish or Krylon Home Decor Latex; 12 oz (dries in 12 minutes or less) for inside and out, for use on wood, metal, plastic, wicker, etc. in 4 or 5 different colors) and I think the Arizona heat has ruined them! I really don’t want to have to pitch them. What can I do? Pleeeeese help.
Lots of shaking little mamma. Hoo ho lot of shakin’ going on. Thank You, thank you very much. Seriously, if you shake the devil out of the can and keep shaking them while you are using them they will work better. I would find some extre nozzles from other cans that work so you could switch them when they get clogged. Soak the clogged ones in a small jar of paint thinner for a while and they will work again.
